“Wrong” is a strong word. As it is only an example, I don’t think it is wrong but sure it can be improved using mocks. In a real environment (mainly when using TDD) it makes a lot of sense. I have never worked with mocks in Go, so if you have any tool to suggest I will appreciate. Thanks.
